Having the right mop bucket is just as important as using the right mop. Most people can tell you their favorite type of mop head; whether it’s a micro fiber mop head, antimicrobial mop head, a cut end mop head, or a looped end mop head. They even have a preference on the mop handle, some like wood mop handles, some like metal mop handles, and some like plastic mop handles. It’s also important to think about what type of mop bucket you like to use. No one likes to mop, but if you have the right floor cleaning supplies equipment, it makes the job much easier, faster, and less arduous.

There are all types of mop buckets out on the market today, and by doing a simple online search you can find merchants that will provide you what you need. Metal mop buckets are the most durable, they will stand up to the test of time and most are made from electroplated steel, which prevents rust. Plastic mop buckets are lightweight and pretty durable and are by far the most common mop bucket sold on the market. Most plastic mop buckets can be fitted for both side press mop wringers and down press mop wringers. One of the most convenient mop buckets on the market today is the duo mop bucket. The duo mop buckets have two tanks; one contains a mop cleaning solution and the other contains a rinse solution. These are most commonly used in hygienic environments like hospitals and microchip factories and the duo mop buckets usually have antimicrobial properties built in. If you have to travel up and down stairs when your mopping, the strainer mop bucket might be right for you. These mop buckets and made out of a durable plastic, are light weight and have a low capacity pail so they don’t get very heavy. They do not have wheels so you must carry it, but it does have a funnel-shaped strainer that sits down into the bucket about 4-5 inches so you don’t have to worry about the wringer fall out when your walking.

Let’s talk about mop wringers. There are metal mop wringers which are extremely durable, made from electroplated steel to prevent rust, and have a metal handle so you can apply extra pressure if needed. Plastic mop wringers are lightweight, durable and are quite affordable; they come in both down press style and side press style. What are side press mop wringers and down press mop wringers? Side press mop wringers the plunger places pressure on the mop head from the sides and on a down press wringer, the mop plunger places pressure on the mop head from the top, which enables increased pressure to be put on the mop. My favorite is the down press mop wringer.

What size mop bucket is right for you? Most residential areas are less than 400 sq ft and will do fine with a small bucket (25 qt or less). If you need it for small commercial, 400 – 1000 sq ft, then you should use a mop bucket between 25 qt to 45 qt. if you working a large commercial, 1000 sq ft – 2000 sq ft, you should use a mop bucket between 35 qt – 50 qt. If you have to clean an area greater than 2000 sq ft, then you should forget about the traditional mop and bucket and use an auto scrubber or a wet-vac with mounted squeegee. Hope this cleaning supplies info helps you out.
